From time to time I have posted articles written by my friend Tom. Tom is currently incarcerated for a crime committed during a dark period of his life. Now he has committed his life to following Messiah Yeshua and has embraced his Jewish heritage. Tom is seeking to live a godly life in trying circumstances, and is a light both to the other offenders and to the staff at the facility.
He is a Messianic Jew, and writes from that perspective. We don’t always agree on everything, and we learn from each other. His resources are limited, so I often try to find things for him. What he does have is time – more time than he will ever have again to read, study and pray. When I have reproduced his work here it is just as he wrote it, with only minimal editing for spelling and punctuation.
We have been granted permission from the prison warden to publish what Tom has written. I hope you enjoy these posts.
If you want to know more about working with and encouraging those who are incarcerated, I encourage you to read my posts Why I Hang Out With Criminals and Ministering to Those in Prison.
Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers—for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember the prisoners as if you were fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you also were suffering bodily (Hebrews 13:1-3).
